About our fixed monthly fee
approach to development

The well-known diagram below illustrates common failures in IT development. To get closer to what customers actually need, we use agile development, allowing requirements to change flexibly.
Our billing follows the same approach, with a fixed monthly fee.

theory

The following principles guide how we build websites

  1. Define the right problem Design thinking
    Design thinking

“If I were given one hour to save the planet, I would spend 59 minutes defining the problem and one minute resolving it.”

“If I had an hour to save the world, I would spend 59 minutes defining the problem and one minute developing a solution.”

    Albert Einstein

Asking the right question. In ten years of creating websites and apps, we have found this to be the most important factor in success.
Using design thinking—a method that applies design principles to business—we observe website users and co-create with our clients. Together, we identify the right questions and help make their users happier.

  2. Build a flexible, fast-moving development process Agile development

Just as planned economies struggled in complex, specialized societies, today’s complex web development benefits more from small experiments and learning than from attempting a perfect plan behind closed doors. This approach prevents misunderstandings and plans falling apart. Using agile development with Scrum, we work quickly, transparently and flexibly to create what your website’s users need.

  3. Weave a business rather than merely construct one Effectuation

Traditional management approaches have treated market segmentation, targeting and positioning—STP analysis—as the route to building a successful business.

Yet the US coffee market was shrinking when Starbucks began. Kaki no Tane rice crackers came from an unsuccessful attempt to make thin crackers, and Baby Star Ramen was a by-product of instant noodle production. Rather than working backwards from external factors such as market segments, we use the management approach known as effectuation. Starting from a company’s identity, knowledge, relationships and internal resources, we explore with our clients what kinds of businesses these can be woven into.
