Covers Online Store 2.0 and Shopify CLI development workflows!
Brought to life through crowdfunding:
Japan’s first technical book on Shopify theme development
During the pandemic, as people were urged to stay at home, the e-commerce platform Shopify rapidly expanded its presence in Japan. Among Shopify’s many features, the ease of customizing store design with themes—design templates for Shopify stores—is particularly noteworthy.
As more companies built e-commerce websites with Shopify, there was still no Japanese-language book on theme development.
“We want to help engineers who are struggling with theme development.” That wish inspired this book, which brings together the experience and knowledge our engineer Kawashima gained through client projects.
Alongside examples of customizing Shopify’s official Dawn theme, the book systematically explains how themes work, how they are structured and the syntax of Liquid. It shows both how to build and how to research, helping you apply what you learn in practice.
Support from many people through crowdfunding made it possible for us to write and publish this book!
