From non-designer to designer, and what comes next — Nonsta Folks #1 with Jun Yoshihara

Hello. I'm Oura for CSR.

Our company holds an event “nonsta folks” where you can think about one theme without any hesitation as a place of “ midway between drinking party and study session”. This time, we will introduce the state of the first event held in November last year. If you were concerned but couldn’t apply... I would be happy to read it!

The first guest to commemorate is the industry's top runner!

The first theme was “I am going to become a designer and I will be a non-designer from now on”, and we invited Jun Yoshihara, who had a unique career as an ex-gardenist and served as the art director of various major companies’ websites.

Mr. Yoshihara is also a top runner in the web industry, and he wants to know what kind of paths we have been to live in this same industry.

Mr. Yoshihara, who has a brilliant career but with a friendly personality, always warms up the atmosphere of the place, so we started creating new places while borrowing a little back to be remembered for his excitement.

His specialties include communication planning, information design, art direction and design in the digital field: Business Architects (2001-2007), a leading web production company at that time; tha ltd (2007-2008) and creative unit 602 inc (2009-2015); Subaru, Yamaha, Fujifilm, SoftBank, Mitsui Fudosan Residential, Microsoft, Loft, Odakyu Electric, Sony, Shinchosha, USEN and many other corporate sites and branding content. He has also been a judge of Internet advertising awards such as Yahoo Creative Awards and Acc04 Awards since 2016.

Life Graph Shows How to Become a Designer

During the first half of the event, Yoshihara and our art director Sato held a talk session where they asked two people who had built up their careers as designers to write “life graphs” to discuss how they have been able to move on.

Mr. Yoshihara's story, who has repeatedly challenged, frustrated and restarted in an hour to the point where he laughs "I wonder if it is a turbulent graph," was so surprising that his story of the times when I couldn’t talk about it in one hour or what kind of troubles I had while I overcame it with my own mind could not help but feel astonishing from the participants.

the theme is diversity. food coordinator's geisha rice

The second part is a special menu that you can make according to the theme every time while tasting food coordinator Ryoko Sato’s dishes and having a chat with alcohol.

This time, a dish with the theme of “diversity” which is also the concept of non-stafolks. There are more than a dozen dishes + dressing 4 types + salad in one big tray and each person has their favorite flavoring style that surrounds the table. In addition to the glamorous appearance, there was an interestingness like eating something different even though it should be eating the same thing.

Participants can delve into a part of the story, discuss their careers and how to proceed with work. When they talk together while eating rice, the position or distance between the speakers, listeners, and organizers disappears and becomes one circle. From the middle, it seems that each hobby story was excited and career story + alpha could be exchanged.

so that you want to come again.

Rather than learning practical know-how, Non-Stuff Forks wants visitors to have a special time that they can’t otherwise enjoy by making it a small and interactive place.

Learn, connect and have a delicious meal. For those who are not good at adults but want a place to interact with, we would like to offer you time for different experiences and unchanging peace of mind every time. We look forward to being the third place where our staff can come!
