Kurumido Publishing | A Publisher Born from a Café
We created an e-commerce site for “Kurumid Publishing,” a publishing company born out of the cafe. A walmid publication book that takes time to carefully create each book, and we use it on our top page (PC version) to produce images of books placed in soil from dawn through sunset so as to make users experience the world view of both light and shadow.
The EC site uses Ruby on Rails to create full scratches so that it can shop in a consistent world view of the entire site, following the publisher’s concept of “selling books is to convey body temperature”, and product photos are poetic rather than cataloged.
There’s also a way to “close the book” when you’re transitioning from a publisher to a cafe site, and to “close the door of the café” when you’re transitioning from a cafe to a publisher site.
